Yahoo's Post Page
The plugin changes Yahoo's Post page to allow you to easily post messages in the right format:

My Posts
The plugin adds a My Posts link so you can work with your recent posts.
If you click on that, you'll see a new page with your recent posts, and buttons to work with them:

Messages Page
On the messages and search pages, you'll see a button to reply to a post.
Just click this to respond to a post.
The plugin hides recent OFFERs which have been TAKEN and WANTEDs which have been RECEIVED. That way you can easily focus on the messages which are left.
If you want to see these, click the button:
When people aren't using the plugin, they can post TAKEN and RECEIVED messages which don't match exactly. The plugin tries to match these up. If it can't match up messages for sure, you'll see a question mark:
If you move your mouse over the TAKEN? link, you'll see which message it thinks has matched, along with a percentage showing how likely the match is.
For your own posts, you also get the same buttons as on the My Posts page.
Map
Not all groups have the map function turned on, so you might not see this.
The map appears on the Messages page. It can take from a few seconds to a minute to load up. Once it does, you'll see currently open posts in your area, like this:
How to use the map controls
This is a Google Map, and you can scroll around it and zoom, either using your mouse (including the scroll wheel) or the controls on the left hand side of the map.
There are a few other controls for the map:
- If you don't like the map, you can click the Hide Map button to remove it.
- Once you've scrolled around and zoomed to find the area of the map that you want to see, you can click Remember this View, so that next time you see the map it shows the same view.
- The green Play icon will cycle through the posts on the map, showing you each of them in turn.
What's on the map
You'll see four types of thing on the map:
- Your home location (the last location you posted from) will show up as a yellow marker with an 'H' on it.
- Open OFFERs will show up as red markers with an 'O' on them. They only appear if they've not been TAKEN.
- Open WANTEDs will show up as blue marker with an 'W' on them. They only appear if they've not been RECEIVED.
If there are several posts very close to each other, you'll see a circle with the number of posts on it, like this:
- The colour will vary depending on how many posts there are.
- If you click on this it'll zoom in (you might have to do this a few times to see the individual items).
If you move your mouse over a marker, then you'll see a window with some more information about the post.
How to reply to a post
When you see the popup window showing more information about a post, there's a View link. If you click on that, you'll be taken to the post so that you can read more or reply to it.
